I wrote and recorded Spring ‘26 over a month-long period
in my small apartment bedroom in Portland. It’s my first full
instrumental record, and much of the music you hear was
improvised and then immediately recorded. I find that
sometimes the emotional urgency of music can get lost
somewhere between inception and the time an idea is
recorded, and this record is an attempt to remove those
barriers as much as possible. After a decade of writing
traditional songs, this music felt like a relief to make.
